Just added finalized versions of PTSD and Not on Duty. I really pumped up the mix on these versions. Also, I realized I screwed up on mic'ing the snare in PTSD. Just couldn't get it to pop in the mix. The new version has a completely new snare drum sound. So how was this done while keeping all the dynamics of Geoff's original take? I took the snare track and first EQ'ed out the hi-hat. Then I took the poorly mic'ed snare sound and used it as a trigger on an Alesis DMPro drum machine. A little fiddling to sync it up and them I could dial in any drum sound Using Geoff's track as a trigger. Cool! Then I mixed in just enough drum machine with the mic'ed snare track to get that solid THWAAACK on the snare. Check out the difference between the old and new version of PTSD.
